My love for LOG CABIN quilts!

I think I started quilting because I fell in love with log cabin quilts.  They were usually made with scraps and all that color hooked me.  I had to have a pattern for the first because I was so new to quilting.  From the book:

And this is my first one made with 1 1/4" strips.

Although there are so many things I did wrong, I still love the primitive feel to this little quilt!  I hope to show the progress I have gone through with the many log cabins I have made and the ideas I have for future projects.  But for now, it's time to think of ICE CREAM!

Showing a Past Project

A log cabin that I made for my dear friend, Anita, when she moved.  I find making a quilt is very good therapy to work through things.

It's getting to be that time of year!  How many scoops can you handle???

Sewing the Nine Patches

Unlike many of my quilting buddies, I LOVE working with tiny pieces!  The scrapier the better!
I will need a total of 117 nine patches for my 9 patch in 9 patch quilt.  Here is a sampling.  That is a 2 1/2" ruler in the middle.  When they are sewn, each nine patch will measure 1 1/2"!  So fun!
I did some of the stitching on "Marge," my 1951 Singer Featherweight.  Isn't she a beaut?

I like little things.  That is a six inch ruler in front of her.  She sews beautifully, I just have to adjust from sewing on my two computerized machines.
It's that time of year...time to start thinking ICE CREAM!

Tiny 9 patch in 9 patch.

After taking a beginners course from EQ7 - Electric Quilt Company- I am starting to sew this design.  The pieces are tiny.  Each 9 patch measures 1 1/2" finished.  So cute.  I will post updates as I sew the pieces together.
I have finally started a quilt blog!  That one can come off my bucket list!
Here is the link to take the course I took:
I learned a lot.
